Fuel Tank Cleaned/Past 2 Weeks Update

Updated: Jan 19, 2021

Over the winter break, one of our group members, Jameson, caught COVID and had to quarantine for two weeks. This slowed our progression with the work on the car, however, we were still able to make things happen and work on the car over the break. We talked to more people about our car and what could be the problem besides the fuel tank, and many people said that our spark plugs were most likely bad, so we got new spark plugs. The fuel tank was able to be cleaned and we also got a new fuel pump for the tank. We also reopened our GoFundMe, so thank you to everyone who has donated! We are in need of equipment like a torque wrench as well as other tools, which we did not have the funds for, which brought us to the reopening of our GoFundMe will be a huge help in continuing this grueling process of restoring this car. With the needed equipment, especially the torque wrench, we will be able to reinstall our fuel tank completely, attach the fuel lines, and install the new spark plugs. Once these are in we will put gas into the tank and try to get the car started. If it does start, we will begin to work on putting the car into drive and examine any issues there, and most likely install new tires. If the car is not able to run and stay running, we will keep examining problems, possibly with the timing of the pistons or other issues. Our group again thanks everyone who has donated!
