Starter & Battery Removal

Last weekend our group removed the starter to get a better look at the part to see if we are ordering the right type of starter. We thought it would be easy... but it was a struggle to get underneath the car comfortably because of our ties being flat, so the jack only raised it up a little bit. In the end, we were able to remove the starter which is quite a simple removal. WE unscrewed two bolts after disconnecting the battery wires. We did have to tug it a little bit but were eventually able to get it off and take a look. We also got out the rusted battery, which was quite a simple task. Our treasurer, Yutaek Oh, realized he gave GoFundMe incorrect bank information, so we have to restart the withdrawal :( We will have to order the parts later on in the week. Overall, it was a good day for our project. Our next visit this weekend will most likely be a cleanup day, where we were the car and get all the gunk, dirt, and mud out of the car to make it comfortable for us to work. We may also take out the tires and rims of our car because they are all rusted up. We are also discussing the funding situation for our group, because the owner of the car is paying for all the parts, and we are only using our GoFundMe money for our equipment and tools we need. Lastly, here are some pictures of our workday. We also have a picture of our flywheel when we took out the starter.
